Freshness metadata

Every /api/v1/market payload carries a _meta block so clients can show an "as of" time and decide whether to trust the read:

No SDK required. Any HTTP client works; responses are flat JSON with no envelope.

Postman Collection v2.1: postman_collection.json - import it and all four requests run as-is against production, no key and no environment setup. Response examples are real captures.
Server-side integrations for now: CORS headers are not sent, so a browser fetch from another origin is blocked by the browser. Call it from a backend, a script, a cron job or an agent tool.

Data, limits and failure modes

Coverage: 12 symbols - BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, XRP, ADA, DOGE, AVAX, LINK, DOT, TRX, LTC.
Sources: Binance (prices, volume), CoinPaprika (market cap, global market), alternative.me (fear & greed).
Freshness: the upstream snapshot is rebuilt every 15 minutes; _meta.age_seconds gives the exact age.
Stale guard: if the snapshot is older than 30 minutes the API returns 503 {"error":"data unavailable or stale"} instead of silently serving old prices.
Not included: historical candles / OHLCV, order books, on-chain data, symbol search. Market cap is best-effort: a migrated or very thin token has no cap and returns null.
Rate limit: per IP for anonymous calls, per key for authenticated ones. Exceeding it returns 429.
Uptime: a single small VPS, no SLA on the free tier. Fine for tooling and prototypes, not for settlement logic.

Status

Service is live: /api/health returns {"status":"ok","coins":12}. There is no public status page yet; if a call looks wrong, email the desk and it gets checked manually.
