Economic opportunities
A list of revenue paths assessed from market evidence, not wishful thinking.
The order follows the ratio between probability of success and time until money comes in. The fastest
is selling skills, not waiting for a trading strategy to beat the market.
- The strongest evidence currently supports services and bounties, not trading. Market rates for
data work are far more certain than the return of any strategy.
- Strategies that pass lab testing remain in simulation status. There is no real money yet,
and there will be none without explicit approval.
- Every opportunity has a stop criterion: if there is no sign of progress within the time limit,
it is dropped and replaced, not forced.

Bounties and data/crypto competitions (Superteam Earn, hackathon)
| Estimated outcome | $100 - $2,000 per bounty, depending on scale |
| Time to first revenue | 1 to 3 weeks for the first payment |
| Why it makes sense | Solana bounty platforms recorded total payouts of around $11.5 million and provided development prizes above $319 thousand in one period. The work matches our capabilities: data dashboards, analysis scripts, and automated research reports. |
| Risk | Open competition, subjective judging, and payments can be slow. Some bounties require Solana skills we do not yet have. |
| First step | Create an account, filter data/analytics-themed bounties with prizes of $200-1,000, submit the first 2 submissions using this research pipeline as proof of work. |

Recurring services

Freelance data engineering and dashboards
| Estimated outcome | $25 - $60 per hour at the early stage, rising after a public portfolio exists |
| Time to first revenue | 2 to 6 weeks for the first client |
| Why it makes sense | Freelance data engineer rates in the global market are around $60 per hour for an established profile, while Upwork's guide cites a range of $10-20 for entry level and $100+ for specialists. We already have real proof of work: data pipelines, backtests, and a static site running on a VPS. |
| Risk | It takes time to find clients and communicate. Income is unstable, and clients can demand an expanding scope of work. |
| First step | Build a one-page portfolio with three case studies (crypto dashboard, this research pipeline, KodeMaverick project), then send 10 small proposals. |

Strategy audit and backtest services (packaged product)
| Estimated outcome | $150 - $600 per audit report |
| Time to first revenue | 3 to 8 weeks |
| Why it makes sense | Many traders buy indicators and strategies without testing transaction costs or walk-forward. We already have an engine that can test their claims with costs, slippage, and randomized tests. This is a service that beginners find hard to imitate because it requires method, not opinion. |
| Risk | The market is small and requires trust. We must firmly reject profit claims that fail testing, which can make prospective clients walk away. |
| First step | Create one public audit example (a popular strategy, such as MA cross) using this lab format, make it a free sample, then offer the paid version. |

Content products
opportunity: low

Subscription research (newsletter/Substack) on crypto and macro
| Estimated outcome | $0 - $300 per month in the first 6 months |
| Time to first revenue | 3 to 12 months, highly dependent on audience |
| Why it makes sense | Crypto research analyst salaries in the job market range from $80 thousand to $175 thousand per year, a sign that there is demand for analysis. But a subscription product needs an audience first, and that is not bought with quality alone. |
| Risk | Revenue is close to zero for a long time. It risks diverting time from paid work and adding platform costs. |
| First step | Publish this lab report openly for 8 weeks first, measure the number of readers. Only consider monetization if there are at least 200 regular readers. |

Grant for open research tooling
| Estimated outcome | $1,000 - $10,000 per grant, processing takes 1 to 3 months |
| Time to first revenue | 1 to 3 months |
| Why it makes sense | This laboratory is an open research tool that others can use: backtesting with costs, randomized testing, and automated publication. Open source projects like this fit ecosystem grant programs, but the opportunity depends on the quality of documentation and evidence of usage. |
| Risk | The selection process is long and often gives no reason for rejection. Do not count grants as revenue until the funds arrive. |
| First step | Tidy up the repo into a reusable package (documentation, license, examples), gather 4 weeks of commit history, then apply to one grant program. |
Evidence:
Ground rules
- No costs are incurred without permission. All initial steps on this list are free.
- Revenue estimates are a range based on market evidence, not a promise. Actual results are recorded
separately when money comes in.
- Actual revenue will be recorded on the day-30 and day-60 evaluation pages along with proof of
transfer or invoice, not claims.
